FORTIFIED RICE EXTRUSION PLANT
Fortified Rice Extrusion Plant Manufacturer in India
SS Engineering Works manufactures fortified rice extrusion plants in Noida. We supply FRK (Fortified Rice Kernel) production lines to rice millers, food processors and manufacturers supplying government nutrition programmes across India. Fortified rice is produced by blending artificial rice kernels made from rice flour with micronutrients into regular milled rice. The artificial kernels are produced on an extrusion line. Our plant handles this full process from raw rice flour to finished FRK kernels ready for blending. What the Fortified Rice Extrusion Plant Includes
- Pre-conditioner for rice flour and micronutrient premix blending
- Twin-screw extruder for kernel formation
- Rice grain shaping die to match natural grain appearance
- Hot air dryer for moisture reduction after extrusion
- Cooling conveyor before packaging or blending
- Vibratory siever for size classification
- Blending system for FRK to milled rice ratio (1:100 or 1:200)
- PLC control panel for process monitoring
Why This Machine Matters Right Now
Government programmes under PMGKAY and the National Food Security Act require rice supplied through the public distribution system to be fortified. This has created significant demand for FRK production capacity across India. Rice millers who want to supply to government channels need a fortified rice extrusion plant to qualify. Private food companies are also adding fortified rice to their product range as consumer awareness of nutrition grows. Both segments need the same basic production equipment.Capacity Options
- 50 kg/hr — suitable for small rice millers and trial production
- 100 kg/hr — for medium-scale FRK producers
- 250 kg/hr — for larger millers supplying state government contracts
- 500 kg/hr — for industrial-scale fortified rice production
Compliance and Quality
The plant is designed to produce FRK that meets FSSAI standards for fortified rice. We can provide documentation on micronutrient retention levels after extrusion and drying, which most government supply contracts require. The twin-screw extruder gives more consistent kernel density and micronutrient distribution than single-screw alternatives. This matters for compliance testing.FORTIFIED RICE EXTRUSION PLANT
The fortified rice extrusion plant uses broken rice or rice flour as the base material. The raw flour — mixed with iron, folic acid, vitamin B12 and other micronutrient premix — goes through a twin-screw extruder that shapes, cooks and densifies it into kernels that look and cook like natural rice grain. That’s the core of how FRK (Fortified Rice Kernel) production works.
What makes the twin-screw design matter here: temperature is controlled independently across every heating zone in the barrel. That zone-by-zone control is what determines micronutrient retention after extrusion — too much heat in the wrong zone and heat-sensitive vitamins degrade before the kernel is even formed. Get it right and you hit FSSAI compliance levels consistently, batch after batch.
- Raw material: broken rice or rice flour — both accepted
- Twin-screw extruder with multi-zone temperature control
- Interchangeable rice grain shaping dies — produce kernels in different sizes to match your blending rice variety
- Hot air dryer post-extrusion for moisture reduction
- Vibratory siever for kernel size classification
- Blending system for 1:100 or 1:200 FRK-to-milled-rice ratio
- PLC control panel — full process monitoring
- Capacity: 50 / 100 / 250 / 500 kg/hr
Demand for this plant is coming from two directions right now — rice millers supplying government PDS channels under PMGKAY fortification requirements, and private food companies adding fortified rice to their retail range. Both need the same production equipment; the compliance documentation requirements differ slightly.
