FRYUMS/PELLET FRYING LINE

Fryums and pellet frying lines – what we actually build

Started in 2011 with one fryer design. Thirteen years later, Haldiram’s running our lines. So is Bikaji, Bikano, Patanjali. We’re not going to pretend that happened because of good brochures. The machines are SS304 throughout – not just the food-contact surfaces, everything. Full PLC with a touch screen. The hood lifts mechanically, which matters more than it sounds: your cleaning crew is lifting that hood twice a day, sometimes on a 10-hour shift. Manual hoods on a hot fryer are a real problem. Ours aren’t.

What goes into the line

The core is a continuous immersion fryer. Product goes under a submerger conveyor, spends 15 to 40 seconds in oil depending on your pellet type, comes out expanded and fried. After that – a de-oiling belt (VFD-controlled, so you can dial the speed) and a flavour drum. The drum angle is adjustable, which matters when you’re switching between different coating weights. A few things people don’t always ask about but should:
  • There’s a conveyor filter running continuously to pull starch out of the frying oil. Dirty oil is one of the main reasons finished product colour goes inconsistent.
  • The incline elevator feeding the fryer is full SS304 – not just the contact surfaces.
  • The pre-fryer (standard on our lines) evens out moisture in the raw pellets before they hit main frying. Skip that stage and your expansion is uneven. A lot of cheaper lines skip it.

Capacity – and what actually fits your floor

We build in four standard sizes: 50 kg/hr, 100, 250 and 500. The 50 is for startups or someone adding a second product line without a second building. The 500 is genuinely large-scale – Gujarat and Maharashtra buyers mostly, running three shifts. 100 and 250 are where most of our orders come from. Regional brand, one or two shifts, wants reliability more than raw volume. If you’re between these or above 500 – call. We’ve customised lines for unusual floor dimensions, thermic fluid heating instead of LPG, specific pellet shapes that need longer fry times. It’s not a special project for us, it’s just a different spec sheet.

CONTINUOUS AUTOMATIC FRYER.

The automatic pellet frying system runs a dipping conveyor belt that pulls pellet snacks through hot oil at a controlled depth and speed. Fry time sits between 15 and 40 seconds depending on the pellet type and target expansion — adjust the belt speed on the VFD and the fry time changes. No stopping the line to make that adjustment.

Works across the full range of pellet snack types — fryums, 2D and 3D pellets, potato pellets, tapioca pellets, wheat-based pellets. The submerger conveyor keeps product fully immersed so expansion is even. Pellets that only half-submerge get uneven expansion on one face — a common problem on cheaper fryers. Not on this one.

  • Pellet frying time: 15 to 40 seconds (adjustable via VFD belt speed)
  • Dipping conveyor with submerger — full immersion, even expansion
  • Handles fryums, 2D/3D pellets, potato, tapioca and wheat pellets
  • Mechanised hood lifting for cleaning access
  • Conveyor oil filter — removes starch particles, extends oil life
  • SS304 construction on all food-contact surfaces
  • Capacity: 50 to 500 kg/hr

CONTINUOUS AUTOMATIC PELLET FRYING LINE WITH FLAVOURING.

The pellet fryer is built around one practical goal: lower running cost per kg without sacrificing product quality. Here is where that shows up in operation:

  • High productivity — continuous operation, no batch stops, consistent output across the shift
  • Low fuel consumption — insulated frying chamber retains heat; less energy spent maintaining oil temperature
  • Low edible oil take-up — submerger conveyor controls immersion depth and time precisely, so product doesn’t absorb excess oil
  • Low manpower — one operator runs the full frying and de-oiling section once set up
  • Better finish quality — even fry time and consistent oil temperature means uniform expansion, colour and texture across every batch
  • Better hygiene — mechanised hood lifting means cleaning doesn’t require staff to handle hot equipment manually; SS304 surfaces don’t harbour bacteria

These aren’t spec-sheet claims — they’re the reasons snack manufacturers running our fryums frying line report lower oil bills and fewer rejects per shift compared to their previous equipment. Also see our namkeen frying machine and Kurkure frying line for related frying systems.

HOPPER VIBERATOR

A buffer hopper to feed raw pellets. Entire construction in SS 304 with exception of standard component viz. drive motor, Vibrator etc.

FEED ELEVATOR

An elevator with small hopper to receive raw pellets. Entire construction in SS 304 with exception of standard component viz. drive motor, flighted conveyor belt, bearings etc. Belt speed regulation by VFD.

PRE-FRYER

To even out moisture content in raw pellets prior to frying. All Stainless steel construction except standard components viz. drive rolls system, drive motor, bearings etc.

PELLET FRYER

Product is fried beneath a submerger conveyor and taken out by a separate takeout belt on an inclined plane. For ease of cleaning conveyor frames along with top hood are lifted with help of mechanized hood lifting system. Material of construction will be stainless steel (SS304)

DE-OILING CONVEYOR

The conveyor receives pellets from fryer. And transports it to further process. It allows the product temperature to come to equilibrium and removing excess surface oil. Belt speed regulation by VFD. Entire construction is of stainless steel except for the standard parts.

FLAVOUR DRUM

It is a rotary horizontal drum, which blends the fried product and flavour together so that the flavour is evenly covered as far as practically possible. The drum is made such that its degree of inclination can be adjusted. The drum is also provided with inwardly projecting product lifters. Speed of rotation of drum is variable and entire construction is of SS304 except standard components.

SCARF TRAY

Vibratory Scarf Tray for even spraying of flavoring.

Installation, warranty, the practical stuff

Installation at your factory is included. We don’t charge for it, we don’t send a junior technician. The people who built the line come and commission it. Your operators get trained before we leave – not a 30-minute walkthrough, actual hands-on time on the machine. We’ve seen what happens when that step gets skipped. Mechanical warranty is one year. Spare parts ship from Greater Noida, usually within 48 hours. If you want scheduled preventive maintenance instead of waiting for something to go wrong, we offer AMC contracts. We’ve put lines across Delhi NCR, UP, Rajasthan, Punjab, Gujarat, Maharashtra – and a few places further than that. Distance doesn’t change the installation process much. If you’re building out a full snack line, the Kurkure Making Machine and Puffed Snacks Processing Line pages are worth a look alongside this one.
